    I originally thought it was Aiptasia. Looks similar to yours...

    i've never heard of cowries eating them, are you sure it eats them? Its definitely a strawberry nem (also known as ball tip) they are NPS and if you want them to grow/split they need to be fed. I used to feed mine.
    looks like a mini duster to me

    Yep, pretty sure it just cruised over the second one and the rock is completely clean now. I only imagine that it had not eaten them before is because prior to moving the rock around those two rocks happened to be in an area that was inaccessible to the cowrie before.

    Cowries will munch on corals, gorgonians. I am not surprised.

    It's really too bad they had been in the tank with the cowrie before they were just inaccessible and I inadvertently set the table for the cowrie to chow down
