I have a regular magenta dotty back. It likes to eat cleaner shrimp, hemits, and snails. The striped one might do the same.

I think he means the sankeyi dottyback.

These are regarded as the most docile and least aggro of the dottybacks, along with springeri, and fridmani.

Now I know of a few local guys that have them, and they play nice with others , besides a little conspecific nipping.

I have a ORA indigo dottyback, which is a cross between the sankeyi and the fridmani. They bred these 2 fish together to geta colorful and low aggro fish.

I know a few guys in my club hasve the indigo's as well as I do, and everyone elses are shy, at best and keep to themsleves.

Mine did not read the indigo dottyback book of etiquette.

he has killed 2 cleaner shrimp, 1 sexy shrimp, 4-6 peppermint shrimp, 1 solar wrasse, 1 lubbocks wrasse, and maybe the christmas wrasse too, as well as the ora midas blenny.

So, mine was a mistake, but I can say it is by far the most beautiful indigo dottyback I have seen. That does not make up for his attitude. He is nearly impossible to catch, so I simply will get him out, by not transferring him to my new big tank.

    SO..... buyer beware with dottybacks....
