I just got my new aquatic life mini 115 skimmer, got it in my tank, and plugged it in, after a few minutes I turned the water flow knob to raise the bubbles and the water started comming out of the collectin cup and on the knob (not overflowing) it looks like it has a little notch at the bottom of the collection cup. Does anyone know it that is supposed to be there?

It was actually in the neck of the skimmer whare the water is getting out. It won't snap together.

Sounds to me like you're missing an O-ring.

Yeah that's where the missing part would come in. ;)

If the neck of your skimmer has a groove that goes all the way around it and I'm assuming from your description it does, there is supposed to be an O-ring in there. The ring makes the seal and holds the collection cup assembly in place.

I have the same skimmer on my nano. There is no gasket. the collection cup just fits snuggly on the main unit. Make sure that the air hole on the other side is not blocked or under water. That will cause that.

It isn't blocked though, it just wont seal up or snap in place, there is still that little groove in the neck of the skimmer.

Now also if you dont have the brackets on like this, it will leak also. it holds the two halves together.

Where is this groove you say you have

Ya, my brackets are on but where the font of the neck and the back of the neck meet, there is a place on the right where the front and back don't snap together.
Thanks 4 the pics and help but I think I might have to send it back for another:)
