I have a 12"x12"x6-8" Styrofoam container that was used to transport a goby and shrimp. I was thinking of using it to make an extra fuge or reactor or something, but am unsure of the safety of Styrofoam for marine livestock. If anyone can tell me if this would be safe or cause water issues or anything bad, please let me know.

I wouldn't trust styrofoam for anything longer than my morning coffee. I'd use something sturdier. Long term i'm sure it's just going to degrade until you find it broken one day.

+1. I would not do this. A 10g tank is somewhere around $15
