Sucking sound on skimmer

    I've got a v2 120 nano skimmer, it's been running for 3-4weeks and it's always made a sucking sound.
    I put it lower in the sump and that stopped the sound but then it wasn't making many bubbles or foam, it wad just water rising up the funnel.

    Is this usual in a skimmer to make an annoying sound? Or is it how I've placed it? Or just the model?

    Is everone elaes skimmer silent? Or near silent? Mine gets rather loud

    You should have a small rubber hose in the box with a bulb on the end. Stick it on the hole on the intake pipe just as it enters the skimmer
