I have a Zebra turbo snail that keeps climbing up my hang-on skimmer and either 1) getting on top of the eggcrate I have on top of the tank or 2) falling off onto the floor.

I have the egg crate over the top of the tank and as close against the skimmer output area as I can.

Any suggestions, afraid he is going to dry up and die before I can catch him. This seems to be becoming a daily occurrence. ::)

Does your tank have that black plastic rim all around the top?

At my LFS, some of the snails climb onto the eggcrate they have on top and just sit there......

I've seen several snails at my LFS doing the same thing as well as one of mine. I don't think it is a problem because it seems that when it starts to dry out they just fall back in. Funny snails:loco:

Yep, but they climb up the skimmer return. I have a hang-on AquaC Remora. I have the egg crate covering the top and have it butting up to the Remora, but I guess it's not close enough.

I've come by quit a few times and they are baking under my halides sitting on top of the egg crate.

I agree...crazy snails:loco: None of the others do it, just the Zebra snails.

Curious, how long can they survive out of the water?
