sump baffles

    I found out the hard way 1/16 is way too thin. Actually I went with 1/8, thinking I'd be careful and it would be okay. WRONG ... a month after my tank was "born" and I was ready to start skimming, I was messing with the skimmer and it slipped and broke two !@#*! baffles.

    Go 1/4". ;)

    Another thing I would do if I were you: take the sump WITH YOU to the local glass shop to make sure the baffles fit properly. That way you don't get them made about one millionth of an inch too big, and have to throw them away and have ANOTHER set made. Like I did. :-[
