sump design

    thanks alot for the advice what if i make the return 13'' and the fuge 9'' long would that be better ?

    To be honest with you the return are only needs to be big enough to accommodate your return pump. I would make the fuge as large as possible .

    I agree completely. I am building an offset fuge as well.

    I Need Help

    hi im farily new at this so any comments would be apreciated i want make a sump for a 345 litre tank i think thats 90 gallons can i have bio balls and a fuge or is that a waste of time

    I am fixing to set up my new 65g with a 30g sump. I will be using a 30g aquarium for my sump. I am torn with how i will lay out my baffles.I currently have a 37g with a 10g sump i made. The water is perfect and i do not have any trouble with my parameters now. The 10g i have now is layed out, intake to filter sock then it overflows into my refugium then a bubble trap to my return.Just like starthy first layout. The only thing i will be doing diff is i will be running a in sump protein skimmer instead of hang on like i have now. so i take it from your forums that instead of the old layout i used i should put the return in the middle on the 30g.

    will the skimmer really push enough water to the refugium to stir up the sand bed if i use my old layout?
