Thanks to Seano Hermano for giving me this idea. Anyway I'm thinking to do a small 5 gallon sump either behind the DT or in the stand, doesnt really matter. anyway, im thinking 2 chambers: 1st chamber is the fuge and has some LR, LS, and chaeto plus some of my CUC and maybe a small shrimp like a peppermint or blood shrimp. the 2nd chamber will just have a return pump, and both chambers would be separated by a glass partition. Suggestions to make anything better, comments, and advice would be helpful :) just need a way to connect the sump to the DT

becareful drilling 10gs can be irritating because the thin glass breaks so easily.

wouldn't it be smarter to have the fuge drain or be part of a sump so you can hide your equipment? or would your fuge hold all the equipment you need?

Well what do you mean? I'm thinking a sump with a fuge inside; excuse me if i didnt specify well, which i probably didnt XD. 2 chambers in the sump (no protein skimmer on this tank), one with all the LR, LS, chaeto, and what not (the fuge itself), and the other one is just the return pump. If i cant really drill a 10 gallon well would there be another way to connect a sump to the DT?

    oh ok.

a suggestion-use a suitable plastic tote as a sump/fuge, put a bulkhead in it as a overflow. have it sit above the dt on a shelf. so water will be pumped from the 10g to the tote.

so basically reverse the standard setup. definitely not as pretty as the standard.

Well, you could drill a 10g. It would be a little more difficult though. I hadn't thought of that. Most tanks are 1/4" thick. 10g tanks are just 3/16". Being little thinner makes it a little weaker.

No skimmer? You could go that route if you want, but I would look into the Red Sea Nano Skimmer. It's made, miniature, for nano aquariums.
