That's what I'm doing with my sump/fuge. I would just make it really long but I wouldn't be able to get it under the stand in one piece so it's a two piece job where one flows into the other :) I think it will work just fine.

    Ya that will work fine.
When i was setting up my fuge i wanted to be able to control the flow through it, so i set it up so my mag 7 is in my sump and feeds my DT and my fuge. There is a ball valve on the T line to the fuge to control flow. The way you have it will work fine but your going to have hundreds of gallons per hour running through your fuge, I think its better to have slower flow throught the refugium so the macros and pods have a very chill invirment. Just my opinion. :)

what i was trying to say is a remote refugium may be better then an inline refugium. This is just what I think. That said i would reccomend just switching the way you have it set up and have water feed the sump from the DT and have the mag 7 also in the sump feediing your fuge and DT. Both DT and fuge gravity feed to the sump. you can use ball vaulves to control flow to dt and fuge.

Or instead of that, you could flip the way you have it for the lower section. I.e have the return section in the middle, fuge on the outside. Then on your overflow pipe, add a t with a couple ball valves... One can control the flow to the fuge, one can control the flow to the skimmer... And both feed to the return section.

That is what I'm doing. Hooked up the plumbing last night, seems to do the trick. Won't know about everything until I get the skimmer section done in the next week or two though.

Ok, pardon the first grade drawing, but here is what I meant.

PS. Don't judge, I drew that on my phone :) lol

    Blue - water flow
    Red - overflow from DT
    Green - return line

The main thing I like is that the fuge gets nutrient rich water straight from the DT to work with... And it gets returned to the DT with possible goodies (pods, ect)
