    I was going to add to build a bigger stand till you mentioned going with the 75 pre drilled if you had to drain the 55 - so the new recommendation is go with the pre drilled and build a big enough stand to accommodate this fine hobby of ours :p

    Yea glass was easy to work with especially when somebody cuts it to your exact dimensions. I was going to use a funky 10ga that I found online but instead built one to perfectly fit in and holds about 5 more gallons. I say go for it!

    im just gonna set up a sump in a tupperware that will fit and use a maxijett 1200 to pump water into it from the sump and have gravity feed it back... follow to a coral problem im posting in another thread....

    I have a 55 gallon and had the same problem. I bought a orca refugium on ebay. My space from the front of the stand to the back is 10" and it fits. I paid $129 on ebay without the overflow box (my 55 is predrilled with corner overflow). I think the outside dimensions are 24"x 10"x 15". I am happy with it. I think they do custom sizes if I'm not mistaken. I would do a diy but after a few mistakes you end up spending the same amount if not sometimes more. JMO

    yeah i could obly have a footprint on 9X16 " so it wasnt worth a DIY or custom order :/
