I currently have halides 2x150watt, 14k, as you can imagine the colour is nice, but i would like a bit more blue, as when i used the t5's, i have no actinic supplement at the moment only moonlights,
When i bought the tank it came with a 2xt8 I-BAR, so can i add a t8 blue actinic bulb on the I-BAR and just slot this back in, the halides will be 10" above them, but i'm thinking this will block out some of the light, i tried some 20k bulbs and to me they just made the tank look dull, like a rainy day, any ideas?

    Thanks in advance...

Is there any way to remount the t-8s in a better spot. One in front and one in back would not block much light.

it's just a smaller T12 that uses less electricity. I suspect the only way to find out is to try it and see. Maybe move the MH's towards the front and move the T8's towards the back. Unless you have a see through tank, I doubt you are placing corals on the back side of your rock. Just a thought.

Im sure Arcadia produce some T8 ballasts, wires and end caps so if Inwall's suggestion does not work you could position one T8 in front and 1 behind the MH
you can also buy individual reflectors that clip on to the tubes
