Don't know how well my table will translate to a post.

I looked through many sites collecting T5 bulb Manufacturer, Bulb Name, Par and looking for spectrum information. Then I attempted to classify the bulbs into categories to select "Best In Class".

For example, I grouped 6000K through 7000K bulbs together and selected ATI Sun Pro as Best In Class above the GE 6500 Daylight and the Giesemann Midday. Similar process for other classes.

I couldn't find spectrum information for all bulbs and some of the combination bulbs didn't classify easily.

    Results
    • KZ Fiji Purple was the best PURPLE/22000K bulb.
    • AquaZ Ocean Pro and ATI Blue Plus were the best BLUE/20000K bulbs. Ocean Pro has better PAR but I could only find that it was a 20000K bulb and no spectrum.
    • UVL AquaSun was the Best 10000-12000K Bulb.
    • ATI Sun Pro was the best 6000-7000K bulb with the GE 6500 Daylight being a close second.
Thus, any T5 bulb combinations should select from these bulbs.

    Thoughts???? Feedback?????

Could you attach the spreadsheet to the post, or a picture of the spreadsheet to a post (if it's small enough)? Possibly upload to rapidshare or the like and link for download? Google docs?
Just throwing ideas out there on how to get this up for peeps to see.

Here is how to do it
1 copy and paste into word
    2 Save as text file
3 open excel and choose import
4 choose the file you just saved, select delimited by comma, deselect tab
    5 finish

This will separate each part and place it in a separate column

ATI Actinic White is manufactured by UVL and is a 12000K bulb. KZ coral light is a daylight 10000 to 140000 bulb. ATI Sun Pro is from UVL and not available. The Aqua Science Duo and Special 15K are more of 10000 to 12000 in color. The GE 3000K is orange in color and more light the soft white lighting we use to light our homes it is and algae grower. The ATI Blue Special is not available any more. The Helios Super Blue is a blue bulb.

Nice summary of bulbs (though you did not consider some of the newer ones, like the KZ next generations). However, as I mentioned in a different post of yours, I believe you are making an incorrect assumption that you should chose some of each of the highest par bulbs from each of the categories you posted. For example, you identified the bulb with highest PAR from the 6000K spectrum. Ok. But why do you want that bulb in the mix? Why do you need a 6000K bulb? It doesn't have light in spectra that you would not get from a 12000K bulb (especially if you also threw in a KZ fiji purple which has a lot of reds). It just has higher peaks in those areas.
IMO, as long as you have some full spectrum bulbs in the mix (ie. 12-14K bulbs), your corals will not lack in their spectrum. Then you can add other bulbs to make the colors more pleasing to you (most people like blues/actinics for this).
