I am looking at t5 bulbs right now and I saw a 50/50 bulb. does that replace the normal 1 day bulb, 1 actinic bulb setup?

Kinda, how many bulbs are in your fixture? what type of look do you like? more blue or more white? im old fashined, i like the 10k bulbs with an even mix of 460nm or 420nm blues

Not really, but kinda, and sorta.

    Depends on who made it.

The UVL bulb doesn't look anything whatsoever (to me) like a half-actinic, half daylight bulb.

    It's pink. I know-- I have one!

Personally I prefer to use ATI Blue Plus for my blues, ATI Aquablue Special for my whites, and a KZ Fiji Purple for my accenting the reds. All three of these bulbs are GREAT PAR producers and well made bulbs.

I like the german giesslman bulbs as well, i never got into the whole red pink bulb ordeal, just always had great growth and luck with normal 10ks and normal atinics

it is a hagen glow fixture with two bulb spots, I was planning on doing one actinic and one regular. I just saw the 50/50 bulbs and started wondering.

You are planning on using a 50/50 lamp to replace 2 lamps or want to have 2 50/50 lamps?

Also are you planning on only running 2 lamps over that tank?
