Hello I have new giesmann bulbs, 2 aquablue+, 2 actinic +, light is about 11 inches from top of first layer of rocks. Actinics run from 1pm to 10pm, aquablues run from 2 - 9 does this sound about right? I have a little bleaching on live rock I think because I jumped 1 hour longer on both and got a little algae on the sand so I backed the times back. Are these bulbs that much stronger than the one's that came with the fixture? It's an aqualife fixture, I replaced all the bulbs over a 4 week period. All water parameters are in range. Thanks and good reefing to ya!

Coraliline will color back up. Algae could be from nutrients, don't blame the lights first for that. You have a good light schedule there. Do you have coral? If so how are they doing. That is a better judge then the algae.

Light schedule is good. The new bulbs are definitely stronger than the original bulbs.

    +1 to heidimi's post.

Could be new bulbs, combined with the bulbs being better. Just up your times slowly over a month or so if you want, or leave them.
