Does anyone here have any experience with the Lavender or Tomini Tang? If so how do they act in the aquarium? What should be the minimum tank size for these fish? If anyone has had experience with them are they aggressive/difficult to keep/to large for a 120 long tank? If you could chime in and let me know that would be great.

Also if you have any pics of either of the two that would be great too!

I have had a tomini tang for for around 8 months now. I am very happy with him. He did stake out his territory in the tank. He took over where my clown at first lived and they had a little quarrel but ended up sharing the space and now my clown is attached to him, the clown follows him around the tank. I had him in a 55 gallon, and last week finally got my 120 4ft long finished and am planning to keep him in there. Might be able to get away with a tomini in a 90 as they are smaller for tangs. Is great as he eats algae off the glass and live rock. I've enjoyed my tomini.

Tominis are a great tang. Being a bristletooth tang they are an awesome reef janitor as well. These tangs are less aggressive than many other tangs, especially the acanthurus tangs. Typically acanthurus are the most aggro of tangs, outside of the purple zebrasoma tang. Now there are exceptions to these "rules" as fish don't read books so they don't always behave as they should. Straitus bristletooth tangs are usually nasty, but for acanthurus, the orange shouldered tangs are very docile for a fish that gets 14"

You can easily keep a tomini as well as another tang that is not a foot long in a 90g.

I have a kole tang and a 6" sailfin tang in my 90g now, but soon all are going in the 200g.
