so im kinda new to tangs. i havent had luck with them until recently. i got a hybrid poweder blue/brown tang. ive had him for 2 months and hes doing great.now my question is how big of a tank will i need to house an achilies tang,my hybrid,a sohol, and a purple tang? now i know the hybrid and achilies are the same body type so i know they would hafta go in at the same time wich isnt a problem. will a 180 be big enough or do i need to go bigger? these guys can all go in my new fluval chi right lol jkjk;) thanks guys.

Liveaquaria says 180 min for a sohal but with 4 I would think it would hafta be huge like 400. The reasoning for it is the sohal is extremely aggressive, I actually googled sohal tang compatibility when I had mine and that's what I found. Unforntunatley I found out the hard way I had to take out all my rockwork to return the sohal. At the time I had a regal, purple sohal and added a chevron. The sohal immediately tried to kill the new addition chevron. If u haven't gotten the sohal already I would skip on him, just a thought

+1 to fhabercrombie on a very large to huge tank. Probably would need an 8 foot long 240 without the sohal.

180 is WAY too small for a growing sohal. I have a large on in my 180. while peaceful, you can tell it is not big enough for him. I do plan to trade him and a purple for smaller specimens here within a few months.

I have 3 large tangs in my 180. a Sohal, Naso and Purple. all three are over 10, 8, 6 inches respecitvely. the purple is the meanest of all constantly tryint to establish dominance over the sohal who most times could care less. fun to watch them interact.
