No carbon, salinity and all params are lovely, slightly high in phosphate, and I mean just outside the zero colour, it always there.
I did removed my mechanical filter last week and also my UV light filter, which i just put back on, but not the filter, as I killed it ;D

Fish is still pink bottomed, and has lovely red lips to match ?

should it be ich do not be afraid. i think 2 many people think that ich is the devil itself. granted its never a good sign but its not the end of the world. if you will you can compare Ich to the common cold of us humans (yes our common cold is not a epidermic parasite but bare with me), when we are stressed or weak our immune system has a harder time fighting off simple infections, such as the common cold. in fact ICH can give positive signs of your system....let me explain why....

i have dealt with ich in the past and have never lost a fish to it nor have i fully purged my tank from it(going 8weeks with a fishless tank in order to kill the parasite with a lack of host). i am well aware that ich is present in my DT and i am not very concerned by it.

i have recently added a juvenile hippo tang, these fish are ich magnets, surly enough a couple days after i put him in my system he had spots all over, to cut a long story short after i started feeding it the fresh fish mix i make (if you ask me a good diet is the BASE of any fish and its health) and once he found his space among the other inhabitants, the ich cycle ended and he has been (together with all my other fish) spot free for what has been about 3 months now.

now....some will say and i agree, when something goes wrong and all my fish get stressed (for example if water quality is compromised) then ich will pounce like a tiger and destroy the world.....so what to do about it?

keep your fish fat and healthy and stay on top of your water changes. if you have ich in your system yet your fish dont give off any signs of infestation it means they are healthy enough to fight the parasite off naturally

Ich tends to appear on fish who are "weak" due to whatever reason (new to the system, aggression, incorrect nutrition, not enough swimming space, etc) you need to find out what the core problem is, stray voltage could lead to ich.

what are you feeding them? how big is your system?

    just my 2 cents

the mechanical filter might be it - by removing it you have decreased oxygen in the water. might be something to look at? do you have a skimmer?

+1. my first thought was the oxygen level as well. What is the water volume of this tank?

90 gallon display and 30 gallon sump.
Runnin 2x 750 and 1x1050 Korila power heads, and a aqua clear 70 on a timer power head, return pump is 1100 Gph, in line UV light, and a skimmer in the sump.

I also run a air stone and a small air pump in the 1st chamber of my refugium, always have done this, never really had a reason, I don't have any micro bubbles in the display tank though.

Oh about 100Lbs live rock in the DT and 20 Lbs in the refugium where my cheato lives :)! And I have a 6 stage RODI water filter for top up and water changes.

I would suggest you go to the supermarket spend about 20 bucks for a mix of saltwater fish, mollusks and clams, come home blend them all together with some of your flakes and nori seaweed ( lots of it as tangs tend to be more herbivore) freez it and feed once a day half an ice cube of this stuff or (better yet) twice a day a quarter of an ice cube.

That's what I feed my monsters and they seem fat and jolly
