the bristletooth ones r small, such as a kole or tomini tang

Kole tangs are small and fairly easy to come by. I agree that your tank should be at least 4 feet when keeping tangs.

Many bristletooth tangs get over 8" long.

A tomini is probably your best bet as they only get to be 6". A kole will get to be 7" long, and most of the other bristletooth tangs get 8".

Even a small tomini will outgrow a 60 gallon tank pretty quickly.

Well, as you know any lionfish is not really a good reef fish. Anything you get better be as big or bigger than the lionfish is, or can get, and even then it may end up as food.
