Question is: Where can i get a tank made to my specs and shipped to me? online stores? local businesses?

Depending on how custom you're looking (glass vs acrylic) and size....Aqueon (All Glass) does custom tanks. I work at a LPS and have ordered custom tanks for customers/businesses, including custom dimensions, starphire glass, drilled, etc. This of course is only glass aquariums...no acrylic. It's my only experience with custom tanks. I'm sure there are many many more people on this forum with better insight. Good Luck!

I hear glass cages sucks. Too many people complain about the quality and I have read too many complaints about blowouts. The shipping sucks too.

I used fishtanksdirect the shipping was free and almost to my door(the semi truck wouldn't fit in the apartment complex). I am very satisfied with my custom acrylic tank. It took about 4 weeks for the tank to be built... So you gotta be patient. If you do some searching you will find their prices aren't bad. especially when you consider the cost of acrylic and the free shipping. I drew up a general sketch of what I wanted and they made it.

I had one minor issue with this company. They accidentally sent me an eheim 1250 instead of a 1260. Customer service was top notch. They gladly sent the correct pump and included a return shipping label. I will definitely continue to use this company.


They made me a 100 gallon show with custom weir/overflows for a herbie style overflow. It is badass and completely silent.
