Well it's official, after nearly 40 hours without power my tanks a complete loss except for a few of the snails and hermit crabs.
Guess it's time to decide if I'm gonna upgrade or downsize ;)

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
That has got to be extremely frustrating.

Sounds like you have the right attitude though.

Sorry to hear that. Why don't you just remove everything (dead) except for the rock and the sand bed, do a water change and let you ammonia turn into nitrate (then remove the nitrate via fuge or water changes)? Tank should be fine to stock again soon.

Oh man sorry to hear that. I can't imagine how awful that must have to try to save it for 40 hours. Sorry

I may do something along those lines, but I've been thinking about upgrading lately and this looks like a good time to do it.

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully your new tank works out better for you.

Be sure to include a back-up generator as part of your new build. ;)

Upgrade time. Smaller tanks fail faster when the powers out don't they.

Honestly, I think your current tank could be fine in as little as a few days (assuming the power is back on). A 130 gallon system is pretty big (compared to my 20 :))

Battery powered air pumps always come in handy. For $6 you can't go wrong. I keep several handy.

Sorry for your loss darlin-go for the upgrade and put the past behind you!! Keep us posted :)
