I believe I mentioned that we had to build the dolly about 6 inches shorter than the stand so just how do you lift a 1700 pound tank those last 6 inches?

That's a mechanic's jack under the dolly to raise up one end.

Thanks Luna, I'm still looking for the 50" version. I think that there may be a little bit of DIY in my future.

After we got the dolly jacked up, it took a bit of straining for 4 guys to push that tank up the slope to the stand.

What a slave driver you are, only four guys to push and carry that thing? BTW, what are the dimensions of that bad boy again?

Once we got it on the stand, the slick acrylic bottom made it almost easy to manuver around. This is good because due to a minor oversight the blue background for the back of the tank was left in the other truck when they came to deliver.

Rodger, that's your old buddy hanging off the end of the tank.

I wanted to help them move it but I knew that I'd never be able to face the Pic Police if I didn't get documentation. Sorry about the poor photo quality. I was so excited about the tank finally arriving that I didn't notice that had bumped my camera's mode dial to the wrong position.

p.s. tank dimensions 72" long x 36" wide x 49.5" tall. If that seems like a strange dimension for the height it's because 48" tall front/side panels sit on top of 1" glass bottom panel and 1/2" acrylic panal below that. The other acrylic panal laminated on top of the glass bottom doensn't contribute to the height because it is inside the front/side panels

Thats the perfect spot for that tank, the "center piece" of the room. I envy you my friend. If it where me, I wouldnt leave that room for anything.....lol Great job so far, I really cant wait to see everything up and running.
