You had better get this worked out. Any way I can convince the better half to be at peace with it.

Just a thought: If the issue is leaks, why not discuss a seamless acrylic tank ;) ;)
And run some carbon. Takes care of the smell nicely.

it's a few issues, the first would be leaks and I've got that covered when we go to take it down. The tank doesn't leak. I broke the return down in the bulkhead, when we installed the hood. I bumped it too hard and snap.... so when he cut the power off to the pump and turned around, water was all over the carpet. He's scared there are no fail safes in case pumps go out. But there are, the returns break the siphon when the water gets too low and I've got a check valve on the out to returns pipe, but I'm thinking it didn't work the day the carpet got flooded. I bought a new one from the lfs. that problem is solved. Next is the monthly costs. That's why I'm still using pc's What if's that's what bothers him the most...the what if's. it's a whole lot more though.........................

But what if it DOESN'T flood? Life is too short for "what if"s!!! It makes you happy and that should overrule ANY "what if."..............It should overrule ANYthing.

This kinda makes me mad, actually... :-/

My wife and I tend to go rounds about the tank also! Mostly about the money issue, that's why we have an agreement that the algae must be gone and there must be a fish surviving in the tank within 30 days or it goes:eek:. Hope this all works out... for the both of us!!

My wife does understand the passion involved though (that is why the tank is still up:))... hopefully "hubby" will look at that also...

And believe me, there are FAR WORSE expensive things an SO can get involved with. Reefing is not one to worry about.
