I completely understand :) There's nothing wrong with it and I love the dimensions of that tank.

:) 54 is plenty big for a short person of the female persuasion to handle - knows nothing about plumbing, DIY, gadgets, electrical wiring, or computer settings, etc.

ok, I have a silly question, but the silliest question is the one not asked, right? Have you seen that product that seals roofs and such from water? You spray it on and it's black and it seals anything from leaking water...would that be an idea to spray that stuff in the corners where there may be a small leak - I really haven't determined whether they are leaks yet or not or would that potentially enter the sand from underneath? Stupid idea?

The problem is, the only real way to fix a leak is to seal it from the inside. If you try it from the outside, it will eventually "push" its way around the sealant. More of a temporary solution than a fix.

I've head that stuff doesn't work. Maybe it would work temporarily until your new tank gets there maybe not? What was it...2 cans for 19.99 or something?

I think we have some left - my husband used it on the roof...that's why I was asking whether it would cause any harm....

I don't see how it would cause harm as long as it stayed out of the tank. I don't think it could enter the tank through the crack or leaking seal. But we're talking chemicals here so who knows.

I wouldn't do it. I'd be more likely to try something like JB Weld...but I'm not sure how well it would take to wet glass.
