I am going to be building this tank, I know some one who works in a glass shop so it will be drilled, edges rounded off, then tempered before assembly.

in the pictures you can see what kind of a set up i have been thinking about making. not sure what the overflow system is called, i am borrowing the idea from a tank i had seen. i will draw up my sump idea's when i find out what kind of stand i am going to make. not sure whether i want the fuge in the sump or separate.

any advice would greatly appreciated. We are thinking about going with 1 BOOSTled to start then adding another one later when we start adding stuff to the tank. i already have about 35 pounds of LR in my 55gallon then is running with no fish untill i get this set up. all the rocks i have are already covered with Coraline.

Looks pretty good. What size lines will you be using for the return and out flows? What is the line that is colored cyan for?

i will be getting the bulk head kits from glass holes, so they will be the proper inlet and outlet size for a 34 gallon tank. are you talking about the scribbled line in the middle of the overflow box.

that is the level of water in the overflow, it will be right at or below the T on that siphon, if there is ever a problem with the main line going to sump, like a clog... the water level would increase and then fill into the T and through the safety pipe, so the return line will not over flood the tank.

I have had thought of using 2 return lines in the tank coming from the sump to support the water flow so the visual experience would be nice not to look at bulky power heads.

Unsure if it would be better or worse than having a power head in the tank. i do like the choppiness of fan blade power heads.
