Mine goes to 78-80 then the chiller goes on... so there you have a 2 degree Fluctuation. Before I got the chiller temp would go from 78 to 84-85.. not good!

I watched a video online the other day of a guy walking on the beach at low tide in Tonga and his point was to show that a lot of the corals are completely out of the water and baking in the sun for 6 hours at a time.He walked out almost a 1/4 mile from where the high tide line is and it was almost solid coral.Something for everyone to think about.

I have been able to eliminate my 1/4 HP chiller altogether by running my fans off a temperature probe on my new ReefKeeper Lite. You can get the Lite for less than $100 and it will control fans, chillers, heaters, even shut your lights off and sound an alarm if things go outside a setpoint temperature you program in then turn them on again when its safe. it can also turn pumps on and off and has a wavemaker function too. Best $95 I've spent in a long time and sure did clean up all the outlet strips and mechanical timers I had under the stand. I had almost that much invested in good outlet strips and timers alone!
