I currently have a 90 and a 37 gallon tank running seperatly. I am about to start up a new system. The 90 gallon will be going into a 220 gallon and the 37 will be going to a 65 gallon. They are sharing a common 90 gallon sump. I realize this new system will have to completly cycle but here is my problem I will putting about 90 lbs of live rock in it to start. The rest of my rock is in my current 90 and 37 tank. I plan on moving that rock over to the new system as its about another 160lbs but I am unsure when I should move it? I don't want my current tanks to experience a mini cycle by me removing all the rock currently in them so should I move it all once I'm ready to shut them down or slowly over the course of the next 6 weeks move a piece at a time? The current 90 has a heavy bioload (puffers & triggers) the 37 not so much ( clowns & damsels). I hope that all made sence

    Thanks

With 160 pounds of cured live rock going straight into the 220, I would almost venture to say that you wont really have much of a cycle. I would say that you could move your live stock over with your live rock and not have to worry about anything. Just my .02 cents though.

+1 I moved all my rock into my 125 with new sand and had no cycle from my 46 and 55.
