    Hello all,

This my seem sort of a newbie-ish question, but I have a 10 gallon tank that has been up and running for 4 months and have been wanting to upgrade to a 20-25 gallon tank. Here've the newbie part; if I just tranfer water and rock and filter and all will the tank have to go through a whole new cycle? I am assuming so, but I just wanted to make sure being very new at this hobby.
    Thanks
    Shane

Do you have a sand bed? This will cause it to cycle more than anything.

Barring sand, you will still get a mini-cycle. Reuse as much of the water as you can. This will just make it seem more like a 50% water chance. Try to keep all your rock wet, so nothing dies off.

keep a close eye on your perameters if you do move it because disturbing the sand bed can release trapped amonia and nitrate pockets

+3 .. When ever moving to either a smaller or larger tank watch your parameters.
