    How long can I store tank water outside the tank, in my diatom filter, before its bad?

    a day or two ?? NONE at all??

    I went to use my diatom filter today with the water from a few days ago in it, smelt rotten!!! you can be assured I didnt use it..

    I don't think it was the water but the impurities in your filter leaking back into the water

    ahhhhh...all the dodo and stuff rotting...ummm.....man I hate to waste, but diatom powder is cheap. guess I'll to to dump it out everytime from now on..
