OK, I got some good advice on this very topic from OmarD. And, holy crap, he was totally right. If you've got a clown, and he's taken up in the anemone, then your job is done. Drop in some food and the clown will seek it out and bring it back to the anemone for consumption. When it's done eating, the clown will wallow in the anemone and clean it very very well. Better than we can in fact. About the urchin, I like to target feed everything in my tank. It helps prevent build up of uneaten food and makes sure that everyone gets enough. I don't think you're going to run into problems if you DO do it. But follow a specific feeding plan just to be safe.

    Hi sostoudt,
Overfeeding anything can lead to many unwanted problems...I have learned this the hard way.
I target feed my brain and bubble coral with a turkey baster....and also find it benificial to turn off my water flow while doing this.....once a week /twice a month...some (just a few) mysis seems to work well...the rest they pick up thru filter feeding (photoplankton and suppliments)
I feed my anemone regular ol'salad shrimp...cut in quarters..one piece two or three times a month...seems to love it. I look for natural and regular signs of expelling waste as an indicator as well.
As for the urchin....lets leave that to the pros. : ) I have no experience with them.

I hope this helped...remember, sometimes what works for some may not work for others..lots'o patience my friend : )
    Good luck

6 months and my clown would rather play in the bubble coral (and seem to be stung or tickled by it ) than go anywhere near the anenome? WTH?

Urchins do not require target feeding if their is ample amounts of coralline and other algae available. I never target feed my Urchins and they have been alive for over a year and a half.
Anemones, feed upon dissolved organics, nitrates and phosphates and occassional tidbits that their partner(the clownfish or Damsel) offers it. They are filter feeders and can also absorb nutrients through their epidermis. Offering the anemone krill or silverside once every couple weks is sufficient and it also helps to maintain beneficial water conditions!

I feed my tangs lettuce each week and my urchin has figured out that the stalk area of the lettuce that the fish dont want tastes good. He climbs on top of whatever is left and eats till it is gone. It is fun to watch

I am with you coral Reefer. I have two urchins one in each of my tanks. They eat all they want on there own. Have never fed mine in two years. You can actually see the spots on the coraline where they dine. Pretty neat. Just have a well established tank to house one of these VERY interesting creatures. For the create sooooo much poop . Never new somthing could get so full eating coraline. Lol !

I do drop a sheet or two of Green Norri in the tank every week or so for my urchins. They have cleaned my tank so well that there isn't hardly any algae left so the urchins, crabs and snails benefit from it.
