temp spike!

    brought first corals home yesterday ...theylook great! BUT!i came home today at 4 and the temp was 86! how that happened idk now both are closed ( zoa and a mushroom) i cut my heater backand i sloooowly added colder water over a period of 90 min got it back to 81......think they got damaged?i dont know how long the temp was like that everything was in the norm at 8 this morn

    If its just a zoanthind and a mushroom they should be just fine. Just keep an eye on the temp.
    Were the lights on longer than usual? If its the lights you may need to find a way to cut back on the heat they produce.

    They should recover and everything will be back to normal. What kind of heater are you using?

    put a fan over the tank thats what i did and my tank stay at 79 day and night but you will have alot more evaporation so to help with that u can put the fan on a timer so that it turn off and on with the light

    and the corals should be fine

    no thewife opened the blinds right behind my aqua. is the only thing i can think of they are startingto open back upthanks!

    my mom did that and my fish almost boiled lol that was what went wrong

    you mite still want to bo the fan just in case

    yeah i will when i buy my coralight...thanks! man thatwas my first hiccup with it.... scared me to death! thank god for 3reef!..lol i mighta cryed my tank is mybaby....my wife thinks i love it more than her.....shes a close 2nd..j/k...;)
