My zoas have been opening up every day since i put them in 2/3 weeks ago, but lately seem to be stretching for the sky, i know some suggest light but under a 150watt halide 24" deep bottom of tank, i would of thought this was enough, and adjusting flow does nothing either, other then make them poo, so is it too much light or not enough, see pics

Mine were doing this, I want to say it just happens. It's something they do, mine stopped. So hopefully I'm right! Lol

Almost looks like they need more light, you could try moving them up higher and see how they do. Then again, like Chance said, maybe it just happens and they will stop. They are open so apparently they are doing well.

Have they been losing color, to more of a brown appearance?

Not really, I have not noticed any bleaching, why woyld they stretch as if they need more light if they was getting to much, im hoping they attach to the rock on left and multiply

I wouldn't consider 150 watt MH at 24" as intense. More light x3

I would move them up, see how they do. You can always move them back down, but the stretching is usually from to little light. And +1 to barbianj, is this the used bulb you posted about or did you get a new one?

Some of mine types will bleach on the bottom & some stretch for light in middle of tank. You can't always go by the rule with corals. Observation of corals reaction in tank is your easiest sign to tell if their happy. Move them up a lil & watch.
