    In my short experience, I first used strips. I found the colors bleed and were more like guesses. I switched to API saltwater test kit (and the reef kit) - these seem many more times more accurate. A bit more involved, but better.

    Those strips are garbage, not accurate and as Peredhil mentioned, they bleed. Get a decent testing kit like API, Salifert, Elos, Lamotte, Seachem or Redsea. Luna

    For accuracy in measurements, a good test kit is valuable. I did find that during the first months that my tank was set up and cycling, the test strips allowed for a daily quick check of what was going on. As the tank settled in, less and less have I used the strips as their accuracy is not sufficient.
