Sorry for the weird topic title.
A great deal came up today and I just couldn't pass it up.
I'm in the thinking process of creating a monster tank. My initial decision was to go for a 350gal with a 75gal sump costing about $1350 for tank, iron stand and sump.
Today however I came across a guy who was selling a 120gal w/ 20gal sump for $950 this includes, tank, sump, iron stand, canopy w/ PC's + actinics, mag drive 12 return, seaclone 150 skimmer, 2x wavemakers w/ wave adjusters, a 1/4hp chiller, 100lbs of LR and a deep sand bed.
So of course we all knew which one I brought home;D (the 120g is the winner. The little monster)

I'm a bit confused as to what to do. You see, I could easily sell the 120 for double what I paid to get the money to do the real monster 350gal. However, I am not getting any equipment with it just the tank and sump. But since I have the 120 sitting down home, looking all lonely, I want to start the plumbing now.

What would you guys do? Sell the 120 to get the 350? Or start the 120 build?
    I'll post pics tomorrow sometime.

The question of the hour is once you run out of room in the 120, how angry with yourself are you going to be for passing up the 350

    $950 for a 120? Dang. That's expensive.

I'd sell and get the larger tank.

I will be angry if I pass up the 350 lol
I think I definitely will sell it. I can easily get double.
Yep things here are double what you guys pay for them in the US. But do you really think it's that expensive? Considering I got all the equipment with it?

I don't think it was that expensive because usually here, that set up would have cost an easy $1,600+ for used and over $2000 brand new.

Well, if your just going to sell it, I guess I could pick it apart without you getting pissed ;)
If it were me and keeping, nearly all that equipment would go in the garbage. PC lights:garbage. Seaclone skimmer:garbage. Rock: ALWAYS nuke second hand rock. You now have base rock that you had to work for. IMHO rock cannot be factored into the price of a used set-up, but some try regardless. I wouldn't pay for it personally ;) Iron stand: not a good idea, specially with a marine system. That's just a ton of labor waiting to hit you constantly. Wood or aluminum is the way to go. Sump is too small for tank IMHO.
All said in done, I would say that setup here would be $400. That would be a fair, honest price. Maybe a little more depending on age and brand of chiller. But you said double for you, so that is pretty close.
I second getting the big system. The fact that you started a thread on it tells me what you really want ;) But if you can re-sell this for even more, than go for it! :)

Agree sell it and be that much closer to the tank you want. Settle for nothing and regret nothing.

    AND...
on a second thought, how do you do this with all these systems Sid? Seriously, I was going nuts when I had to have my 40 and 200 up at the same time. I was SO over two systems. K+ man, I don't have that kinda dedication or work ethic! ;)
