They should be fine. Now, if you were getting a pair of maroon clowns, I'd be worried because they're extremely aggressive.

Nah a pair of Ocellaris Clownies!!

They are the cutest by far i think!!

IVe had both Clarkii and Tomato but ive been wanting to try Ocellaris and they would be a welcome addition to my tank. Hopefully they will be fine without an anemone!!

They will indeed be fine without an anemone so no need to fret about that. I have a pair of false percs and they are currently nesting in a gigas clam. They don't seem to complain much about it either :)

I am a beginner myself and have learned alot from both experience and this web site. I only have a 12 gallon nano cube tank and it has been doing fine since I got it. All the literature I read said sorry beginners stay away from anenomies, but im stubborn. I went out and bought a bubble tip anenomie several months ago and its just awesome. After 3 months my 2 oscellaris clowns formed an attachment to it and wont go very far from it now. Id say go for it and get a bubble tip anenome. You will enjoy watching them waller in it.

Is this a rule of thumb? My tank has been set up for 4 or 5 months now. Id like to add an anemone but not at the expense of its life or the fish.

It's the rule of my thumb :) Seriously though, a tank at 4-5 months is not what I consider stable enough to support most anemones. That being said, I've known quite a few people who have added these animals to a new-ish tank and been successful. I just wouldn't do it myself.

I appreciate the feedback. I guess that gives me a couple months to plan for the arrival of my first anemone:)
