I've never shipped fish before, so i'm not 100% sure how the shipping costs work. However I'd grab 2 chromis (cheapest/hardiest) --> let the tank adjust to the bio load and then ship the rest. Make sure you do water change after introducing the second lot of new fish. Adding in batch should help with aggression and save on shipping. :)

And yes, any more fish and you'll be doing a lot more frequent water changes.

sorry to highjack this thread for a quick second. So you guys are suggesting 4 or 5 fish for his 22 max? That's what was suggested for me for my 46 bow. So with you guys suggesting this amount for his tank, that means i can get more than 4 or 5 fish for my tank? And again sorry for the quick highjacking of thread :D

puffer you do have a point, once all 4-5 of those fish he choose Fully Grow(over a long period of time obviously) i think they would definitely outgrow the tank vs a 46 gallon that would comfortably fit 4-5 of those fish at any size.

i am not suggesting he keep that many fish. ;) In my world, that is overstocked.

these particular fish are not particularly heavy in the bio-load department and it is a complete stocking list. so i feel better about helping out.

You have to take the combo of fish into consideration - I think you are still undecided PC?

If someone asks if they can keep 4 fish in a 22? No. But if someone asks if they can keep 5 firefish in a 22? Yeah probably. With the proper maintenance, etc.

This. If you wanted anything but damsels/chromis in a 22. Say a dwarf angel, i'd only be saying 2-3 including it. :)

As for a 46G --> i'd be saying 1-2 small -medium fish and no more than 4 (ish) smalls... A side note; no tangs :( Personally i think that size tank is too small :)

    But just m2c.

i've pretty much decided on my stocking list. It's Pair of clowns, helfrichi firefish, red velvet fairy wrasse, and 1 tank bred bangaii cardinal

i considered a dwarf angel i really wanted the BiColor but decided against with the possiblity of nipping at corals. lol i wish there was a small enough tang for a 46 but guess not, so i will have to suffer to go tangless

To be honest i find tangs very annoying. Ich magnets, and can be fussy eaters. If you manage to get past all this they then believe their king of the tank and behave accordingly. :(. More trouble than they are worth sometimes :S.

I have a flame and he tends to leave corals alone (touch wood). It is really hit and miss from what i can gather tho. I personally wouldn't get another bi-colour because mine never seemed to hardy. They'd stress out and die or just slowly starve. :(

But good luck with it all, I'm waiting on the pics :p
However enough hijacking on my behalf...

yea that's one thing that i noticed about tangs as well. Flame angels seem pretty cool. Sucks about the bi-colour.
