I'm gauging interest at this point, so if you would like me to continue please tell me so.

In the last few years, I've become obsessed with writing about the reef hobby, and have contributed so many places that I feel its time I start working on a bigger more inclusive project. The only possible outcome I see to all my writing is to compile a book. I've been tossing around ideas for awhile, and my final thought is not a book purely about a topic or even about the entire hobby, but a narrative about my journey from hobbyist to professional with helpful information along the way.

I really enjoy feedback, so during the process of writing I would like to post it for free in segments for the public to enjoy. If there is some interest in this, I'll keep this thread updated with raw un-edited material as I go.

Let me know what you think...

I will also be posting it to Marine Engineers blog, so if this thread gets unbearably long, it will be easily searchable on there.

I think most people involved in this hobby cant get enough of it. Atleast I know I cant. Hell, I even have dreams about reefing. Haha. Go for it man. It is sure to be good. I remember how good your tanks looked the last time I saw them. A narrative of your experiences in the hobby would be cool to hear. Especially considering how knowledgable you are. I would definitely read anything you posted.

lol if it were based only on that, it would be a boring book. I take pictures of my system at very selective times, because who wants to show off their tank at its worst. You should see it right now. GHA everywhere!!!!!!!!!

Reefing is the ups and downs, so with this story I will air it all out...

Haha. Amen brother. But thats part of what makes looking at a beautiful tank even better. It wouldnt be as much fun without the difficulty factor. Definitely not a hobby for the faint of heart. And I think everyone has selective times when they want to take pictures. So no worries. Haha.

Most definitely! Even an ugly tank can be beautiful because I've found that the true hobbyist sees the potential not the current state. We're a sick bunch!

Exactly. I question myself sometimes. But its all in the name of marine biology. So Im okay with being a bit loopy. Haha. Im excited to read what you are writing. Before I found this hobby I wanted to be a writer so you are combining two of my favorite things. Best of luck Im sure you will have many people interested in reading on here.
