I'm not completely sure on this lamp. How deep is your tank is what corals would you like to keep? The reason it is so much less expensive than most you see is because this only has 2 bulbs.

IMO I would get something like an Aquatic Life 4-bulb or Wave Point 4-bulb fixture. You think you'll only dabble in low-light corals, but then you will get the itch, believe me. Once you start wanting more you will have wanted a better light.

You can get a nice Wavepoint fixture for a great price, it comes with nice stock bulbs, good reflector, splash guard, etc. The Aquatic Life is a bit more but has lunar lights and a digital timer also.

    WavePoint: http://www.bigalsonline.com/BigAlsU...t=1&attrib_id_0=2011&attrib_value_0=WavePoint

    Aquatic Life: http://www.bigalsonline.com/BigAlsU...aticlife4x24wt5lightfixturew2ledlunarlights24

Not sure what size fits your 29g but get it from BigAlsOnline and use code 3REEF for 10% also.

I started with a FOWLR and then started experimenting with corals and once you get to a full fish stock (which is much less than FW taniks), you'll start wanting more corals and on and on, so spend a little more initially and get the better light, that's my 2 cents.

Go with the best light you can afford. When I started my 90 gallon tank I was wanting to get the cheapest lights possible, but now I'm so glad I didn't, because I'm coral obsessed. It would have just been wasted money, since I would have had to buy a new more expensive light fixture a couple months later.

P.S. I have a Sunlight Supply Tek Fixture.

You will want to get a 4 bulb 24" fixture. ATI are top of the line, then the TEK Elite, regular TEK and the rest are about equal depending on the design of the reflector. Individual and molded reflectors are better than a flat reflector by far. All stock bulbs are weak in comparison to the top of the line bulbs. I suggest going to ReefGeek > Aquarium Supplies for Marine, Reef, and Saltwater Aquariums to check out the stock they have. You need to buy T5HO fixtures to keep most coral.

Ah this puts me in such a pickle! I will eventually want to upgrade to a bigger tank and get the very best when I'm done with school. but for now...

Out of curiosity, what kind of things could I grow with the selected lights above?

I really like the look of anemone's (the tentacle looking things I think?)
