How long should I set the timer for day vs night? I have moonglow lights for night and appropriate bulbs for days... Right now it's set for about 14 hrs. daylight and the balance moonglow. I haven't been able to find literature concerning this.

    Thanks, Wayne:confused:

    Re timer

I'm not to shure of the rule of thumb but i have my lights set as follows
actinic's on at 1 pm....MH on at 3 pm.... MH off at 10:30 pm and actinic's off at 12:30.....gives me the most viewing time during the evening when i am home.....

14 hours is too long for daylight unless you dont mind the electric bills through the roof.8 hours of daylight is fine for my reef for the past 2 years.nfarocks sounds like good timing, but i would set them to go on for earlier in the morning unless the room is dark without the lights. the natural light from out side might confuse fish.
