I turned off all circulation and let my water sit to feed coral.. Noticed tiny things swimming near the surface. The creatures are tan to redish in color and smaller then a brine shrimp egg. Under 10x glass i can't see much detail they appear roundish but are clearly swimming and bounceing near the surface. I skimmed some off and placed them in a shot glass and counted over 40. I'm gonna look for a stronger power lenses today.

    Anyone have a clue?

Probably just copepods. Not a bad thing at all. Some people argue that they bother your corals, but I view it as a benefit to your fish.

I'm guessing there is a possibility but my gut tells me that they aren't. They are fast swimmers, attracted to light but not rubble.

Was really glad to prove this one wrong. great guess based on discription. I have a Six line, and he would have devored the small patch i found near the surface.

I was thinking something spawned.. but not a fish. There is not a tail.

Thanks for the guesses when I know there is no pic i didn't expect any good responses and you gave me two already.

He meant it as a compliment i think, saying that without pictures he didnt think he was going to get any good ID's, but so far he's already gotten two good ID's.
