im getting some new corals this weekend, im hoping to walk out with pink birdsnest, brain *going to be on the sandbed* and hopefully another coral. All of my rocks are slanted and dont really have a smooth surface so i will need to glue/rubberband almost all my corals. I have already glued down my two zoa frags. But how do i know what corals are ok to be glued down or which one would be best to rubberbanded?

It depends, will they be on frag plugs, rubble or fresh cuts? Either way, I would not worry about placing them right away. You will want to put everything you get(especially the sps) on your sand and slowly acclimate them to your lights.

I've never had any problems with gluing everything down. I would find using a rubber band to be a PITA

i i dont think i would be able to wrap the rubberband and coral around the rocks, i just wasnt sure if certain corals couldnt be tied down, like anemones, but im never going to put on of those in my tank

Glue works for just about anything, rubber bands can be a pain and do some damage if used incorrectly. Another alternative if they are on small pieces of rock or plugs is to use a putty. We use AquaMend (you can buy it at Home Depot for $3 and its the same chemical make up as most of the overpriced aquarium putty you will find in stores). Just make sure its meant for pvc, fiberglass etc not one of the metal formulas.

lol rubberbands are good if you can get the frag set right if not it can be blown apart by the flow. Ive found the best is to get some lace fabric from a sewing shop and ribberband than to the rubble then all is good.
