    ive heard alot of people that blow it off with basters..i agree that you shouldnt ever disturb a coral, but i just keep mine in really strong flow so that rarely when it does shed it only takes a day or so and the flow just takes the skin right off..

    Let’s be clear, you can and should blow off detritus but not the shedding skin. Let the coral be when it skims over and goes through its natural shedding. But if the coral is collecting detritus than get in there and help it along. Then question if you have an adequate clean up crew.

    Your coral should/will shed and in 4 days – 2 weeks reopen and be happy as every, its all normal. Good luck
