I have a 50gal bowfront that is about 6 weeks old. Cycle is just about done. I just have a few damsels, crabs and snails right now, but i would like to eventually have a yellow tang and a regal tang. I was thinking that 3" would be fine for both for the size of the tank. Maybe a small porcupine puffer as well. Is that too crowded? Trying to get an idea of what to start looking for.

I'm running a prizm deluxe and aquaclear 250.

    I'm afraid so.

Those tangs will outgrow that tank eventually.

    Read what about tangs?

Ya I would have to say that with a 50G Bow you have elliminated Tangs from you reef. I believe the Puffer needs minimum of 75G and is not reef safe.

Oh, sorry to leave the impression... but I am doing fish only, no reef.

Thanks for the link Matt! I have a 75 gallon tank right now that has my freshwater fish in them. My plan for right now is to get small fish and in about a year convert the 75 gallon to saltwater as well. Then move the fish that need more space there. Freshwater fish just aren't the same now that I've got salt going :) (one oscar, 2 green terrors, 1 jack demsky, 2 tin foil barbs).
