So last night I was sitting with my POS PAS camera, taking pics trying to see if I can get a setting to work on the tank. During my 45 mins sitting there in a rocking chair about 4' from the tank, the lights went out. I HAVE 48" T5 4 x39 watt 2x white, 2x blue set up.

All the fish were hiding, I thought it was cause they were afraid of me with the camera. Then the timer hit and 2 of the four went out. I have 1 white, 1 blue on, then @ noon the other two come on, and then go out @ 6, so it was back to 1 white, 1 blue. Then BAM! they ALL came out, (Yellow Tang, Hippo Tang, Maroon Clown, Blue Damsel).

It was clearly the light going off that encouraged them to come out. What's that about?

Do you have any corals in your tank? Some fish tends to be more active during dusk and dawn.

That light fixture is so common it is certainly not too much light for your fish. I would guess they were intimidated by the camera and the change in lighting distracted them from being afraid of your camera for a bit and they went about their daily routines. Or something like that, I really do not think you have to worry about it being too much.

I didn't change up the lighting scheme and I saw them out and about. Very odd how it happened. Perhaps I am panicking over nothing.

I certainly wouldn't worry about it. Weird things happen sometimes, the fish are not robots. :)
