I got my new light today after long await.
I'm holding off from using it till I can get some kind of bracket to suspend it over my tank. I can't hang it from the ceiling because I don't think that there are any beams running in the ceiling between the length of my tank

those lights are decent actually, great for the price.

however you will fall in love if you put new bulbs in there... they come with crap bulbs... they start off about 14k, but once they break in they color shift to about 10-11k straight away....

and the actinics have a green tint to them, look like crap TBH.

but just swap those out for some good 420/460 or just 420 or 460 whatever your prefer...

the MH's i'd recommend a giesemann 14.5k, they are beautiful lights, basically a bright white with an actinic peak thrown in there... they look great with 420/460 actinic supplements, pretty much the ultimate look... excellent coral glow and full color rendering so your tank isn't washed out 2000 flushes colored... almost like adjusting the white balance on life!

granted they are like 90 bucks a bulb... either that or get like an AB 10k, or some kind of 12k, maybe an ushio or XM 14k.

but really the stock bulbs are crap... and with that much wattage, a very bright white bulb is the last thing you need, burn your corals up they will.

i like the bluer spec bulbs because you can run much higher wattages, your corals fluoresce better, and you aren't gonna burn your corals nearly as easily, but MH's don't burn corals as easily as T5's anyways.

Kool. Thank you much. I'd look into the giesemann 14.5k but I don't think I could afford it right now. Would the corals be okay with the odyssea bulbs for a couple of months?
