It was my birthday and my husband bought me a toodstool and the fish store said to stuck the foot part between rocks.

How much of the foot, a little bit or all the way to the head part.

Also does the foot need to be straight up or if I have a spot that makes the foot horizontal would the head straighten itself toward the lighting?

    Am i making sense?

Enough to hold it in place. It really makes no difference. It will quickly attach itself.

It will grow upwards toward the light.

+1, just enough of the foot to hold it into place.

Thank you so much for the quick reply, the only good spot i have it make the toodstool horizontal, so im glad to hear that it's gonna work.

Agreed wit all of the above, just make sure you leave enough room for it to grow where it will not cause problems for other surrounding corals. Toadstools from my experience are very hardy corals and easy to care for. good luck.
