So I had this nice torch with three heads that i bought in Pittsburgh and when I got it home a bout a month and a half ago, it seemed to never really swell up like I've seen in my local lfs. It wouldn't take food either.

I read up on them a ton and tried different areas of my tank, changed up my koralia's so that my left side of the tank would have very little flow, tried to put it lower/higher to try less light but nothing really changed.

I also put my elegance and hammer in that area since they have similar care and the hammer is doing well and so is the elegance but the torch still looked bad. After a month, the heads slowly withered away and the last one died a couple days ago.

Now my question to those who have successfully kept a torch is what worked for you?

I really like them and want to get another but i want to fix what ever I did wrong so my next will make it.

    Thank YOU!

Did you dip it? It may have a euphyllia flat worm.

I also have 2 torches on my sandbed, both doing very well in medium balmy flow. What are you params like (ALK/CA/MG) & what lighting?

One of my torches did start off a lot more extended & full but shrank a tad when I moved it. It was a tad bleached when I got it too & the color is returning. Here's a before (left) and current (right) of it:

You may have moved it too much. They don't like being moved and you should make it retract before moving it.

I had it about middle in the tank for a few weeks and then put it on the sand for a few weeks and still no change.

Not much flow either where I put it. I have good lights. Not the best but they are good. Don't know what the params were then.
