    Not hte african strain, every one from this strain i have seen has eaten frozen and flake. Mine never bothered the fish becuase he was eating frozen. Just make sure when you buy it at the store you have them show you its eating frozen and you will be fine IMO

    sand dollars and horseshoe crabs are excellent ideas. Thanks! I think I need rethink going bare bottom with those?

    sorry for a 10...your list sounds about right. The touch tank critters tend to take up a lot of space, and have special feeding and "sandy bottom" requirements.

    I think I'm leaning toward adding substrate. It will open up more doors for horseshoe crabs. I can't tell you how many times I have veto my daughter from trying to take them home from the beach.

    hard to keep but the smallest ones in there. but at least you can trade them in when they get bigger. having a tank for local beach critters is fun. Sand fleas/mole crabs are easy to get ahold of. coquinas?

    I have a larger established DT that some critters can go into once they get a little bigger or multiply. My LFS is always willing to trade stuff and there is always the beach for the catch and release for the stuff she tries to bring home from the there.
