Thinking of driving about an hour and a half to get some cheap LR from a tear down this weekend. The guy has it in a big tub with powerhead so it should be fully cured from his tank that he tore down. What is the best way to transport this back home. Is it necessary to take a rubbermaid full of water or will it be ok in a bag for 1.5 hrs?

it'll be ok in a bag or bucket just soak some newspaper and cover it to keep it moist.

Check closely for nasties before adding to tank...If guy tearing down tank, may have had problems...aptasia, majano's or worse. (bryopsis, etc...)

mine went for a 3.5 hour drive in styrofoam containers in the back of my truck ;) lol. Just kept it moist with soaked newspaper. Mind you, always best to treat the rock like it hasnt been completely cured and give it a week or so in a tank and let the water do a minor cycle. (There will always be a little bit of die off)
