Sounds a bit fishy. There are no real details and they use the term "halogen" light. I think they meant halide light, but not sure. You definitely do not want a halogen on a reef tank. However, it could just be someone that doesn't know anything about saltwater fish tanks, no sure..

They don't give a name on the light, they don't give a name or model on the skimmer all they say is expensive.... expensive is a matter of perspective... No leaks is the best part i'm reading about this... BUT how old is the tank? I'm going to say that it's a glass tank? Over a long time seals on a glass tank are prone to coming apart not saying it wont be like 40 years before they do but always check the seals to make sure they aren't dry or pulled away from the glass. Bio balls can be problematic because they can become nitrate reactors. When the writer says Bio ball filtration system i'm thinking it's got a Wet/Dry sump.

Depending on how old the chemicals and test kits are you might end up buying new ones anyways.

IT isn't noted but how big/how many gallons is this tank in question?

I'd say ask a million questions, if your really interested in it go down and hand inspect it. Look for chips or cracks, check the seals, ask him what use to be in it, ask how old it is, if it's sitting on the ground ask about the stand, an improper stand will cause issues with a glass tank issues you don't want.

You don't have to listen to most the things I say I'm just paranoid about the integrity of tanks =P

OH before I forget ask why he's getting rid of it.

Uhhh Those are power compact bulbs in the hood I'd be wary of those but that's just me.
He says it's up and running but the pictures don't look like it has anything in it?

    Nice catch on both!

You definitely want to steer clear of PCs. That's yesteryear's technology. Yes bulbs are still available, but they are expensive, last only half as long as T5s, don't produce as much PAR/PUR as T5s, and you don't have much selection as far as color/spectrum is concerned.

Love this forum. will deffinately steer clear of this. Perform having the dollar a gallon sale soon. What size sump should I go for my future 75? I asked them if the 75 was included in that sale and they said no. I was sad about that. So what size guys?

are you talking a pump for circulation or just from the sump to the display tank?
Do you plan on having power heads as well or just this one pump? What kind of corals do you plan on having?

What ever kind of pump you DO decide on getting make sure it has the max head height that you need, if it's 6 feet from the location of the pump to the top or entry points from which the pump will... pump too make sure your pump can produce a max head height of AT LEAST that. Notice that the further the pump has to push water the less flow you'll get so make sure you know that at the expected head height that it pumps as much water as you want.

Example: if a pump normally pumps around 300 GPH at a head height of 0 then it's all good, but the more height you add to the pump it will decrease sometimes it's a HUGE decrease and sometimes it's merely a few gallons. So find out how many gallons it will Actually pump at the height you require.
